I agree wholeheartedly with your firing. Finding a nuance after saying that you see the justice in terrorism, and implying that though it is just, it really is counter-productive, in effect, is a repellent act, and one that rightly diminishes your credibility as a writer, thinker and human being. You don’t deserve to remain in your post in a newspaper as venerable as the Jerusalem Post.

It wasn’t truth, it was an opinion. To JPost, it was an opinion that went too far, at least concerning the financial health of the paper. No paper can afford to maintain an author who causes people to cancel their subscription.

Larry, nothing like truth to get you in trouble in troubled times. I have often posted references to your columns in an anti-occupation web-site. I am very sorry you were (so unjustly, so unceremoniously) fired, but, if it’s any consolation – you are in good company; even Ha’aretz fired several columnists for speaking out too honestly about 2-3 years ago. In Canada, the Globe and Mail (“national” newspaper) fired Rick Salutin, another left columnist in a right wing newspaper. I wish you continuous success, and hope this becomes, in hindsight, a mere blip in your career.

Larry, I’m very right wing, but I’m sorry your column won’t be in the Jpost anymore. I read it even though I almost never agreed with it because I think it’s a good thing to read opposing viewpoints. I understand how people were upset with your blog post but I’m still sorry. I guess I’ll have to read your blog now – I didn’t know you had one.

Fortunately, I didn’t, but you did. Certain Palestinian youth, like certain LA Latinos, are conditioned to join gangs (or terrorist organizations for Palestinians) by their street education. Of course, many Palestinian children are indoctrinated toward radicalization at home, at school, and at the mosque by their elders, not by their peers as is the Latino experience. Maybe it is just a tribal mentality.

Its not about “right” or “left”, its about people not being able to cope with others opinoins.
When Liberman talks about the Palestinians, or European right wingers talk about the immigratin there, they are sure they are defending the democracy. Same goes for the left winged bloggers, who are usually convinced they are the demoracy defenders, because they invent “rules” which all must follow, and sort most of the arguments by insulting other readers (and ive seen this behavior on a few different “left winged” blgos – israeli and internatinoal as well).

People, as a rule of a thumb, should learn to argue and talk to each other on a personal level, before they try to change the world
This has nothing to do with Larry, of course. His blog is a very nice change from the behaviour ive mentioned above. Too bad most of the people prefer the easier way of bannig, not hearing, insulting, etc
